Ancillary structure asset condition inspections are crucial for the Program’s implementation. Condition inspections ensure accurate, reliable, and current data to manage infrastructure investments effectively.
Inspections started in 2021 for culverts under 10 feet, retaining walls, and sign support structures. In spring 2023, inspections expanded to include spun concrete poles, steel strain poles, noise walls, mast arms, dynamic message signs, and frangible and non-frangible pole structures. In summer 2023, inspections again expanded to include embedded steel and wood poles, high mast lighting towers, communication towers, and environmental sensor stations.
Inspection progress for each asset is summarized below, including the total number of assets inspected and resulting condition rating categories.
